General Information:
Stump Sprouts is a small rustic resort on a 450 acre mountain top farm
just south of the Mohawk Trail. With elevations range up to 2000', Stump
Sprouts has some of the most reliable snow conditions in Southern New
England. 25 KM of trails designed primarily for classical skiing and
snowshoeing wind through the property and out into the adjoining state
forest. The unique trail system features wooded glades and landscaped
intersections connected by a variety of trails. A large boulder stands guard
near a clearing at the highest point on the land where four trails meet.
The view from this point makes it a popular destination.
The lodge was hand built and furnished by the Crawfords, who have
operated Stump Sprouts for over 20 years. The lodge features expansive
vistas in all directions, a fireplace, and several cozy bunkrooms. Great
home-cooked meals are provided for weekend guests and midweek groups. The
lodge is a favorite gathering spot year round for family reunions, clubs,
small weddings, and informal business meetings. Couples, individuals,
and families all find it a wonderful place to spend vacations and holidays
during the winter months.
