General Information:
Notchview offers trails for all skiers from the sheltered Kinderloop for kids, to groomed skating trails, to a wide variety of backcountry trails. Each season we groom 20 km of our 30 km of trails that wind through 3100 acres of scenic forest and open meadow. Notchview has one of the highest base elevations (2000 feet) among New England Nordic ski areas. This means more reliable snowfall and a longer season. Think of us in March and even April.
Two trailside shelters offer not only pleasant rest stops but also spectacular views across the surrounding Hilltown countryside. And, we keep the wood stove burning in the toasty ward Arthur B. Budd Visitor Lodge, which offers comfortable picnic areas and our ever-popular hot chocolate.
New this winter is the Whitman Trail offering additional backcountry skiing. We also have snowshoe rentals and an area groomed for skiing with dogs.
Notchview is a property of The Trustees of Reservations which was founded in 1891 to preserve for public use and enjoyment exceptional scenic, historic, and ecologically significant properties within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In addition to skiing at Notchview, a Trustees membership allows free or reduced admission to each of our 96 natural and/or historic properties owned and managed by The Trustees of Reservations.
