General Information:
Northfield Mountain Cross Country Ski Area, on Route 63 in Northfield, is
open for great cross country skiing. At Northfield, you can ski a gorgeous sweep
of the mountain on 25 miles of trails groomed for classical and free style skiing.
These carriage-width trails vary from rolling beginner trails, to scenic intermediate circuits,
to the demanding 800 foot vertical climb of the Tenth Mountain Trail. Northfield has 300 sets
of rental skis, 40 sets of snowshoes, a professional full-time staff, plus a lounge, a weekend
lounge, a weekend food vendor and trailside snack shop, and ski instructors available to teach
lessons to the novice as well as the seasoned skier. The Northfield Mountain trail system
is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm (not open on Monday and Tuesday). At Northfield you can also rent snowshoes and head out
on six miles of scenic trails. For great, local cross country
skiing, come to Northfield Mountain--just 2 1/2 miles north of Route 2, on Route 63 in Northfield.
The trail fee is just $12.00 a day, and the adult ski equipment rentals are also just $14.00

Take Interstate 91 to Exit 27 in Greenfield, MA. Follow Route 2 East to the intersection of Rte. 2 and Rte. 63, take Rte. 63 2.5 miles north. Northfield is on the right.

Snow Report:
February 3,2010. The trails will be closed to all uses until we receive more snow.
We received about an inch of snow overnight, unfortunately this is not enough to reopen the trails.
